"A Moment to Grieve and Remember" is a tender, deeply compassionate guided meditation by spoken word and wellness artist Lucy Tou, created to hold space for the unpredictable, nonlinear waves of loss.
Grief has no timeline, and this track offers a safe, timeless sanctuary where the heart can rest without the pressure of the outside world moving too quickly. Through gentle breathwork and a powerful visualization of a golden door, listeners are guided into a sacred, internal room built entirely from shared memories, love, and warmth. It provides a dedicated moment to pause, sense the spiritual presence of a lost loved one, and safely process the ache of missing them.
More than just a tool for mourning, this meditation is a soothing reminder that love outlives physical presence. It leaves the listener with a lighter chest, a grounded spirit, and the profound, peaceful strength to keep fulfilling their own life's purpose while carrying their loved one's memory with them.
Lyrics
Welcome
In this meditation, we are here to grieve
Grief has no timeline
It comes in waves—some soft, some overwhelming
There are days when the weight of loss feels unbearable
And others when the world moves on too quickly without the one you’ve lost
So today, we slow down...
And create space for what’s on your heart
Begin by finding a quiet, peaceful place in your home
You can do this meditation lying down or sitting comfortably in a chair
If you’re seated, rest your hands gently in your lap
If you’re lying down, place your arms softly by your sides
Now, take a deep breath in—
Let your belly expand as you inhale…
And slowly exhale, releasing all the tension
Again—inhale deeply…
Exhale gently
Let your body soften with each breath
One more time…
Inhale love, and exhale release
Now imagine a door in front of you
This door is unlike any you’ve ever seen—
It’s surrounded by the most beautiful colors, shimmering softly like sunlight through stained glass
The handle is gold
As you reach out to touch it, you feel a calm, comforting warmth spread through your body
You know, deep in your spirit, that on the other side of this door…
You will feel them
You open the door
And there you are—
In a place that feels so familiar
A place of love, of laughter, of shared memories
A space you and your loved one once created together
Time doesn’t exist here
This is a sanctuary—a timeless realm where your grief is safe
And your love still lives
You feel their presence
You sense them near
Maybe the wind brushes past and carries the scent of their favorite dish...
Or their cologne…
Or the softness of their voice echoes gently in the air
You’re not sad in this moment
You’re full—
Full of memory
Full of love
Full of warmth
Know this
Whenever your heart aches
Whenever the missing feels too heavy
You can return to this sacred place
They are always here
But now, you feel it’s time to return
Even though every part of you wants to stay
You understand something deep—
They want you to live
To keep going
To fulfill the purpose that’s been placed in your hands
You are forever connected
They are a part of you, and you are a part of them
You walk toward the door again
As you step through
You carry their love with you
The tears have dried
Your heart—while changed—is no longer as heavy as before
When you're ready...
Gently begin to come back into your body
Wiggle your fingers and toes
Feel the surface beneath you
And when you feel ready
Softly open your eyes
You are not alone
And they… are never far
